FOR FUNDERS & PARTNERS

About Sorted & Supported CIC

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC 16950066) registered in England and Wales, supporting Brighton & Hove's most vulnerable residents through practical advocacy and life administration support.

Our History

Kirsti Cox has been delivering practical advocacy, life admin, and money confidence support since August 2024, operating as a sole trader. Sorted & Supported by Kirsti Cox Advocacy CIC (No. 16950066) was incorporated in January 2026 to formalise and grow this work for community benefit.

Sorted & Supported CIC is currently in its pre-launch phase. Kirsti continues to work directly with clients while the CIC establishes its financial footing. Grant funding will enable the CIC to formally launch its funded service model, offering free and subsidised support to vulnerable residents who could not otherwise afford it, and to bring in its first paid member of staff to expand capacity.

This is a deliberate and structured transition. The work is real and ongoing. The grant is the trigger that moves it to the next level.

Our Mission

To provide practical follow-through support that bridges the gap between advice and action, enabling vulnerable adults to access their entitlements, maintain independence, and navigate complex systems with dignity.

Who We Serve

  • Older adults living alone (13,875 in Brighton & Hove 38% vs 30% regionally)

  • Unpaid carers (20,804 in Brighton & Hove contributing £618m annually)

  • People experiencing digital exclusion

  • Those without family support nearby

  • Individuals facing financial hardship or life transitions

Our Approach

We work alongside, not instead of, existing services. We don't duplicate provision, we fill the critical implementation gap that advice-only services cannot address.  We provide the practical follow-through that turns professional guidance into tangible outcomes.

Proven Impact

  • 15 clients supported through complex challenges

  • £50,000+ secured in unclaimed entitlements

  • All clients reported feeling more confident and in control by the end of their support

  • Prevented debt escalation and crisis situations

Current Partnerships

Sorted & Supported CIC is building referral relationships with a small number of trusted local organisations, including Together Co and Time to Talk Befriending. These conversations are at an early stage and formal referral pathways will be established once capacity is in place to receive and support referred clients. We signpost to and from these organisations now, and we expect these working relationships to develop into structured partnerships as the CIC grows.

Partnership Opportunities

We're seeking partnerships and funding relationships with:

  • Local authorities and commissioning teams

  • Advocacy and advice organisations

  • Carers support services

  • Health and social care commissioners

  • Community grant-making organisations

Funding Need

With seed funding of £25,000-£30,000, we will:

  • Hire a part-time Advocacy Worker to expand capacity

  • Provide free/subsidised support to 30 vulnerable clients in Year 1

  • Build robust impact data for future commissioning

  • Establish sustainable referral pathways with statutory services
